He said he has felt exactly as those travellers on the Road to emmaus felt. He said what is more precious than that hymn is the way the holy spirit touched his hearts, and indeed touches our hearts. He spoke of a memory he had at a tiny church many years ago, and of a hymn that helped him feel of the spirit, that hymn being "Abide with me, tis eventide" and relates the words of the hymn. President Eyring said that he had prayed to be able to feel something of what Mary felt at the tomb, and to feel the same as the two disciples on the Road to Emmaus when their "hearts burned within them, while he talked with by the way" He says he saw an empty tomb, and that what came to mind was an image of what happened that day when the angels said that Christ had risen, and then the Master himself, resurrected, spoke to her. He related a story of when he saw what was reported to have been the tomb the Savior rose from, though we are not sure. His purpose was to help increase our desire and ability to receive the holy Ghost, and he spoke of always remembering the Savior, and welcome that spirit in. He spoke of us receiving the promise "That we may have his spirit to be with. ![]() ![]() President Eyring, last conference, spoke of how we draw close to the Savior through the spirit.
